McDonald's

From fry box frocks to coffee cup couture and ready-to-wear wrappers, the McDCouture Fashion Showkicked off the 2015 Funkshion Fashion Week Miami Beach at the Setai Hotel on Miami Beach, unveiling an original fashion collection designed entirely out of McDonald’s signature food packaging.

Pantin/ Beber Silverstein and local franchise McDonald’s owner/operators challenged Miami International University of Art and Design fashion students to create one-of-a-kind designs made entirely out of McDonald’s packaging and paper goods. On trend, the 20 look collection left the crowd hungry for more than a Big Mac and fries. The aspiring designers utilized more than 4,600 McDonald’s sandwich wrappers, 1,770 fry boxes, 1,100 straws, 600 to-go bags, 500 sandwich boxes, 200 soft drink cups, 500 ketchup holders, and 100 McFlurry cups to create their one-of-a-kind-designs, and after weeks of preparation, their McDCouture was runway ready.

The crowd full of fashionistas were lovin’ the designs which ranged from mini and mid-length skirts to ponchos and fringe. There were evening gowns and even something for a McDonald’s bride-to-be.

From local Miami to national US coverage to UK, Netherlands, Indonesia and more – the McDCouture story was seen all over the world and featured on many prominent websites and social media platforms.
